Halloween

Wow, I am really behind. But there is no time like the present to work on getting caught up!

The kids enjoyed Halloween this year. I didn't let Amber trick-or-treat so she handed out candy and scared kids and had a great time!
les thought that Dracula would be a fabulous idea this year, and the costume was very easy, so I agreed! Doesn't he look great!
Zak was in disparate need of some new pajamas, so I convinced him that a set if scrubs made to look like a convict were perfect. Let's hope it's not a sign of things to come! (with a name like Zak, who knows!)
Amber had a few parties to go to, so she dressed as a clown. I thought it was a really good costume. She came up with it on her own, and then decided that it was stupid, and wouldn't wear the pants and shoes.

And I love that the kids can carve their pumpkins by themselves now. I don't live to do it and now I don't have to anymore!

Our 15th Anniversary

This year, Brian and I celebrated our 15th anniversary. We decided not to take the big getaway that we had initially planned, and instead we took a few smaller weekends away from the kids. The first weekend, we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon. I had never been up there, and had read about a few fun places for leaf peepin' so we went hiking.
The leaves were just a little past their peak colors for the season, and the area was absolutely beautiful.
Brian was so wonderful to let me take my time and photograph anything I wanted. I'm still not getting it right a lot of the time, but I'm getting better.

the next weekend we went to Midway to the Homestead Crater. It's a fun place to go swimming. I would be happy to always swim in water that warm. We took a beautiful drive over the Alpine loop and just enjoyed a beautiful, warm and sunny

Rainbow GardensTrail Hike

When all the fall colors were at their peak, we took the family for a hike. It was a beautiful evening, and we stayed out until the sun had gone down.

The view of the valley was clear and beautiful.
and you know I never miss the funny times with the camera!
My man, looking at the view.
Les and Zak were enjoying catching the grasshoppers, torturing them, cutting their heads off, and pulling their guts out. They are true boys. Look at the joy on that face back behind!

The Boys of Fall

This is what my boys do every fall. I can't get them out of the leaves. This year they also did wheelbarrow rides.

Playin' in the Rain

I went out and ran in a fall rainstorm I couldn't believe how hard and fast it was coming down. It made a good excuse for a warm bath!

Photo Walk - Farmington Trail

In October, I joined people all over the country on a photo walk. Just a morning to join with other people to take photos, and practice. Since I love photography, and am such an armature at the finer points of the craft, I thought I'd take the opportunity to watch and maybe get pointers from other. Some of these are better than others, but I think slowly I'm figuring out my new camera and getting better slowly.

Amber and a few of her friends were the "models"for the day! Thanks girls.
